Project Coordination Unit

INTRODUCTION:

In accordance with the restructuring of PLANMalaysia (Department of Town and Country Planning) in 2008, the Department was divided into eight (8) divisions namely Development Plan Division, National Physical Planning Division, Regional Planning Division, Research and Development Division, Legal and Regulatory Planning Division, National Land Use Information Division, Management Services Division and Corporate Division.

Under the Development Plan Division, there are five (5) project offices namely Project Coordination Unit, Northern Zone Project Office, Central Zone Project Office, Southern Zone Project Office and Eastern Zone Project Office. With the completion of the organization restructuring, the Project Coordination Unit is part of the Development Plan Division and was placed under the management of the Deputy Director-General (Planning).

ROLE:

The roles of the Project Coordination Unit are as below:

  1. To plan, control, coordinate and monitor the physical and financial progress status of development projects.
  2. To provide a progress report on the implementation of current programmes and to develop programmes and budgets for the Malaysia’s Five-Year Plans.
  3. To prepare a report for the Department’s development budget.
  4. To manage matters pertaining to appointment, performance evaluation and termination of consultancy services in the Department.
